From one fashion fanatic to the next.
Here’s this month’s Dresscode:
Think Bordeaux wine. Think rich velvet. I’ll even go as far as saying Gucci-esque. In complete honesty, Rina and I had a fairly hard time parting with Brown Suede. There is a certain aura to her that makes her linger in your mind. We had to remind ourselves that just because a new month falls upon us, and consequently a new it girl is chosen, that does not mean we are abandoning our former Dresscodes. You will catch me in my Brown Suede coat (Oct 2024) and my vibrant Colored Sneakers (Sep 2024) all season long.
Now although I can sit here and chat about our former Dresscodes for hours, (okay fine for days but who’s really counting) I think it’s time to switch gears toward the real star of the show. As I mentioned previously, we had a hard time saying goodbye to Brown Suede- so there was only one remedy to this problem: finding an equally as fabulous, just as alluring, and every bit as enchanting Dresscode for November 2024 (We believe in the power of three around here).
November epitomizes rich color palettes. I would say that November might be the ultimate cozy girl month of the year, (October, November, and December are all in the running for this title) so naturally we should dress like it. Our Dresscode has this underlying mystique to her that cannot be taught. She embodies both sophistication and refinement, yet I’m inclined to say she is a party girl at heart (I did not say party-animal, I said party girl. That was intentional- please do not spread rumors about our it girl, she is under enough pressure this month as it is). Although for the past 2 months, our Dresscode did indeed include a color, we couldn't help but choose another one this time around (I told you I believed in the power of three). So without further ado our November 2024 Dresscode is Burgundy.
Burgundy knows she is far more advanced than some of the other colors she hangs around, but she will never admit it- humility is a strong suit of hers. What is most fascinating about her though is her ability to be seductive, timeless, and contemporary all at the same time (If you read that and thought the power of three, I trained you well). As a color, it is very hard to be a jack of all trades, you’re not offered much wiggle room, but Burgundy proved to us all that it is, in fact, possible to do.
There are very few colors that offer what burgundy does- she lies in between red and purple (she keeps the peace between them) and she is both warm and cool. She gives us the depth and intensity we’re looking for without being as vibrant as her younger sister Red (Red needs to be in the spotlight at all times, her older sister does not feign for other’s attention as much). Burgundy is just one of those colors that is closely associated with luxury and that is a quality that no one can take away from her.
Now let’s break down some ways to incorporate Burgundy into our November wardrobes:
A plain sweater, dark wash jeans, chic sunnies, Burgundy ballet flats, Burgundy scarf- all in the accessories
A simple blazer, matching trousers, Burgundy baseball cap, Burgundy tote bag- all in the accessories part 2
A Burgundy sweater, preppy mini skirt, A long trench coat, Burgundy heels- made in Manhattan
A silk Burgundy gown, simple pumps, a cropped fur coat- the regal life
As always we linked pieces for you to shop the trend (go to the Burgundy tab and click on the images to be redirected to their website).
We’ll see you next month ;)
